6. Straight Needle Stitch - From Traditional Ethnic Miao Embroidery
Straight Needle Stitch works have a natural and fresh look, featuring a paper cut figure on the cloth that is used for embroidery, with stitching along the contour using this technique. Finally, the paper cut is removed upon completion.
The skills used in this technique involve a single color line, where the needle pulls the threads from the reverse side to the surface, retreats 2-3 mm, goes down again, and then moves forward for 5-6 mm before resurfacing. This process is repeated until the work is complete.
Straight Needle works are best when they are evenly and smoothly stitched.
